Wayne Uecker is your candidate
for Kerr County Commissioner, Precinct 1.
Local businessman Wayne Uecker has officially announced his candidacy for Kerr County Commissioner, Precinct 1, seeking the Republican nomination in the March 2026 primary election. If elected, Uecker will complete the unexpired term of Commissioner Tom Jones, who is running for Kerr County Judge.
“I’ve been asking God, ‘Where do You need me to serve?’—and the opportunity to run for Commissioner came knocking,” Uecker said. “I had considered running for office several years ago however I was starting our business, it wasn’t the right time. After much prayer and encouragement from friends and prayer partners, now is the proper time."
For over 27 years, Uecker built his career in sales, marketing, and business development in the construction industry before founding his own company, Texas Railing Systems, 16 years ago. His firm provided architectural guardrails for commercial and residential projects across Central Texas. Uecker sold the business just days before the July 4th flood, marking what he calls a new chapter of service. “When one door closes, another opens,” Uecker said, quoting Alexander Graham Bell. “Now that I’ve sold my business, I have the time and passion to serve Kerr County as your next Precinct 1 Commissioner."
Uecker’s main priority is helping the Greater Kerr County area rebuild to a stronger presence in the aftermath of the devastating flood. “This community’s resilience inspires me. The rebuild must be greater and better than before—an opportunity to strengthen our future while honoring our past."
Uecker also plans to focus on fiscal responsibility and government transparency. “Our tax dollars do need to be managed wisely, with accountability and openness. We must maintain and improve our county roads, bridges, and drainage systems for safety and growth. We must continue to support law enforcement and first responders, ensure emergency preparedness, and balance growth with the preservation of Kerr County’s rural heritage and water resources."
At the heart of Uecker’s campaign is a belief that local government should serve the people—guided by integrity, respect, and a shared vision for Kerr County’s future. “I will listen to my neighbors, value diverse perspectives, and make sure the voice of Precinct 1 residents is heard at every Commissioners Court meeting."
A lifelong supporter of community development and youth programs, Uecker has served in leadership and volunteer roles with the Kerrville Little League, YMCA, Hill Country Youth Soccer Association, Kerr Young Life, Tivy Booster Club, and the KISD Faculty Community Advisory Committee. He also served on the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Currently, Uecker serves on the KISD Career and Technology Education Advisory Board, the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce Board, and both the Kerr Together Business Recovery Group and Economic Development Group. He is also training to become a Dave Ramsey Certified Financial Coach to continue helping families achieve financial stability.
Born in Kerr County and a resident of Precinct 1 for the past 26 years, Uecker moved back home in 1999. He and his wife Hollis have been married for over 35 years, with two grown boys with brides, and one granddaughter. The Uecker family attends Trinity Baptist Church, where Wayne serves as teacher, deacon, and lay leader.
Randy Purswell will serve as Uecker’s campaign treasurer.
